Distilled & Bottled by Benromach
Type: Single Malt
Color: Dark Copper
Distilled in 2007, Benromach Cask Strength is a blend of first-fill sherry and bourbon casks bottled in 2018 at cask strength without any chill filtering or added caramel coloring.
Palate: Oily and full-bodied, each sip has burnt oak, old leather and brown sugar. The fruits from the nose evolve into cooked orchard fruits sprinkled with baking spices
Finish: Long and warming with vanilla and caramel sweetness. There are hints of smoke that return along with an earthy, farm-soil mustiness mingled with old leather gloves. The finish lingers with rich, toasted cereal grains and a dash of salt.
Conclusion: There is a lot to love about this whisky, from Benromach’s decision to use quality first-fill casks to bottling it at cask strength and even providing distillation and bottling dates. But best of all was their decision to mark it a reasonable price which makes this a great deal considering how delicious the whisky inside the bottle is. If you can find this in your area, grab it!
